Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The three finalists have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.

The champion will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.

The event will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
