Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
